Your path to
deeper understanding
How we can work together
When we work together, we explore beneath the surface to understand the roots of your patterns, your relationships, and your history. I'm direct, empathic, and intuitive in my style. And most importantly, I create a space where you can bring all of yourself without judgment.
I typically work with clients for the long term to support them through through all the many different phases of life: from dating challenges to deciding about parenthood to navigating career transitions.
Individual Therapy
Working together we’ll explore your patterns and build a kind of awareness that will help you feel more empowered and in control, making it possible to integrate real, meaningful changes.
I'm genuinely curious about you, your story, and your goals. I help you learn new ways to manage behaviors that no longer serve you, and I provide a confidential, non-judgmental space to process your thoughts and experiences. Our work together can help increase self-esteem, reduce shame, and manage stress.
I'm trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), a highly effective approach for healing trauma. I'm also completing specialized training in maternal mental health through Postpartum Support International, so I can support you through the complexities of deciding about parenthood, pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood.
I welcome individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations.
You might benefit from individual therapy if:
You're dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, or chronic stress
You find yourself in codependent relationships or struggle with people-pleasing
You're working through a major life transition (breakup, marriage, career change, contemplating or entering parenthood)
You have poor boundaries or struggle to know what you want
You're dealing with depression or low self-esteem
You experienced childhood trauma or have challenging family relationships
You're an immigrant or first-generation and navigating cultural identity
You struggle with body image or self-criticism
You keep choosing partners who aren't right for you
Couples Therapy
Your relationship deserves dedicated time and attention. In our sessions, we make the best use of the time to improve your connection. I work to understand both of your experiences and explore how they're impacting you as a couple. With insight, empathy, commitment, and humor, we'll attend to the places you get stuck and strengthen your sense of security with each other.
My approach is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and family systems theory. I've worked with couples of various sexual orientations and backgrounds. I attended ongoing in-depth consultation for couples work with Dr. Michael Klein for a number of years, and previously worked as a staff therapist with the San Francisco Marriage and Couples Center.
Specialized training includes:
• Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT)
• Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) for Couples
• Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples
• Psychoanalytic work with Couples: Why Couples Have The Same Fight Over and Over
• “3 Shifts to Increase Your Effectiveness as a Couple Therapist” training with Terry Real
• Workshop with Esther Perel, 2022
Couples therapy can help if:
You keep having the same argument and can't seem to break the cycle
You're feeling more distance between you than closeness
One or both of you has experienced infidelity or betrayal
You're going through a major transition (marriage, having kids, career changes)
You want to understand each other better but don't know how
You're fighting more than you'd like
You simply want to strengthen your relationship and do better
